My Blogger peeps, I need your help!
I've hinted about big changes happening in my life. I'm sure you hate that. I know my parents do. My dad immediately called and left a message on my cell phone and my mom interrogated me a few days later when I spoke to her. Apparently my dad was guessing that I'm pregnant. (I'm not.) And my mom guessed that it was much bigger than that.
Well, in a way, they're both correct. I'll be giving birth, but to a baby of a different sort.
I'm starting my own photography business.
I'll still continue practicing law; this will strictly be a part-time endeavor. But I'm more excited about this new photography business than any "job" I've ever had in my life.
Word has gotten out and I'm starting to get some work. Here's where you come in:
I need a name!
I don't think "Lawyer Mama Photography" is going to hack it and I'm struggling to try to come up with something original that hasn't been done a bazillion times before. It seems like almost every photographer I've run across (who doesn't just use their name), has a horrible cliche as a business name.
I'll be doing strictly natural light photography for now. I imagine that eventually I will be full service and able to handle weddings, etc... But for now I'm going to concentrate on portraits of family, children, etc...
I thought about putting something regarding light or sunlight in my name and I can't come up with anything better than "Light & Shadows." I'm picturing a Vermeer painting in my mind when I think of natural light photography, but I can't come up with anything to capture that image. I also thought about invoking a Muse like Calliope or something.
At this point I'm ready to throw up my hands in semi-defeat and ask for your help.
So....I'm having a contest. Put your name ideas below. I'll keep the comments open for the next two weeks and then decide. If I get two identical submissions, the earlier comment wins. If your name is the winner, your prize will be a framed print of mine. I'll let you pick from my Flickr account. (Don't worry, there are lots of photos in there that don't have my kids on them.) Or, you can have a MOMocrats t-shirt. I won't be insulted if you pick the t-shirt, it's far more practical!
